Formed 1985 by Steven Swartz and Alan Drogin, SONGS FROM A RANDOM HOUSE is a New York based band. Its songs are written by Swartz, who studied composition with Morton Feldman, and arranged by the group. As well as performing in venues throughout the USA (DC Space, Washington DC; 14 Karat Cabaret, Baltimore; Knitting Factory, NY), they have made many live appearances on radio and TV (New York City Music, NHK-TV; The Music Faucet, WFMU-FM).
